Honoring Scott
1978-2020

Dear Family and Friends,

Our family is asking that in lieu of flowers, you contribute to a cause that was very near and dear to Scott's heart.

Scott loved the ocean. He learned to surf in Hawaii in 2017 and fell in love with the sport! He recently moved to Huntington Beach, two blocks from the ocean so he could surf in his free time. He also loved walking along the beach.

Our family chose Ocean Defenders Alliance (ODA) for donations in lieu of flowers as a way to honor something Scott loved. We appreciate the work ODA does to clean the ocean and keep it beautiful and safe. They do their important work in two places that Scott loved -- California and Hawaii.

Scott was a caring, thoughtful son, brother, and uncle. He will be greatly missed.

Ocean Defenders Alliance: ODA works in both California and Hawai'i to preserve the precious biodiversity of ocean life in coastal waters. Removing hazardous debris such as fishing nets, lines, traps, and a myriad of trash including all kinds of plastic, ODA seeks to make waters safe allowing wildlife to thrive. ODA was founded in 2000 and remains the only nonprofit in these areas dedicated solely to cleaning the ocean of debris.

On behalf of everyone in Scott's family, we thank you.

The Evans Family
